Hotel Wales Guests Receive Discount at the Jewish Museum

July 13th, 2010

It is no secret that the Hotel Wales near the Museum Mile is the best Upper East Side hotel for museum strolling. Hotel Wales is working on partnerships with local companies in Carnegie Hill and one of our first partnerships has been made with The Jewish Museum. If you are seeking a summer activity that is fun for everyone in the family, consider checking out the Curious George Exhibit at the Jewish Museum.

“Curious George, the beloved, irrepressible monkey of children’s book lore, is famous for his ability to “save the day.” Interpreting the role he played in safeguarding his own creators in times of danger as symbolic, this exhibition delves into the remarkable lives and works of Margret and H. A. Rey. The couple fled Paris in 1940 with a Curious George manuscript in their suitcase. During a tense inspection of their belongings by a border official, children’s illustrations were found and they were allowed to continue on their way, eventually reaching the United States.”

Wales’ guests will receive a special discount for admission at The Jewish Museum and 10% off in the Gift Shop by showing their room key. Here are some other fantastic exhibits on display:

  • Modern Art, Sacred Space: Motherwell, Ferber and Gottlieb – March 14, 2010 – August 01, 2010
  • South African Projections: Films by William Kentridge – May 02, 2010 – September 19, 2010
  • South African Photographs: David Goldblatt – May 02, 2010 – September 19, 2010
