And anyone who has ever read about Anna Wintour knows that she is the most important figure in fashion. Hotel Wales is all over New York Fashion week. In fact, we are all a’ “Twitter,” meaning that we are attached to the news feeds like crazy. So far, we know that Maybelline New York will be the official makeup sponsor and we know that MAC Cosmetics is partnering with Milk Studios to offer designers a space for runway shows presentations and press appointments. This decision was huge – as normal tent space costs upwards of $25k and MAC is offering space for free. The goal? Well, the uber-cool cosmetics giant is helping out some emerging designers who might need a little hand in these troubled financial times.
Confirmed designers include heavy hitters Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Peter Som, Threeasfour, Vena Cava, Band of Outsiders, Adam Lippes, Altuzarra, Barbara Tfank, Costello Tagliapietra, Erin Fetherston, Pamela Love, Preen and Temperley London ….
