New Topshop creates more than a little buzz….

April 3rd, 2009

While on vacation in London last week, I walked past Topshop. Something rang a bell….I remembered that Kate Moss had a clothing line for them and I knew they were uber-popular. For the past few days, all I hear is the buzz about the new store right here in Soho at 478 Broadway. Ok, so it’s not the Upper East Side, but it’s such a big deal that I thought Hotel Wales should at least mention it in our little blog world.

Apparently, the opening was the “see and be scene” event of the month (the month just started, right?) Blake Lively and Penn Badgley of Gossip Girl fame were spotted. Kate Moss graced the event wearing a $250, emerald green gown from her own collection.

“Many waited on line more than two hours and were rewarded for their patience with free coffee from Topshop neighbor Madewell, yogurt from Pinkberry and tote bags and small gift certificates from Topshop…”

Here’s the rest of the Topshop opening buzz….

Support local charities while scoring great deals on M Missoni, Haute Hippie, JBM Vintage and much more. Bring a clothing donation to the Retail Therapy event at 515 E. 72nd this weekend and help Bottomless Closet (as well as help yourself look more fabulous.) Melt that visa card out of the block of ice you froze it in last January, as they only take credit cards.

Hotel Wales Finds Your Perfect Tee

March 10th, 2009

Would you be willing to pad your mailbox if you could save a few bucks? Madison Avenue boutique Petit Bateau is banking on it.  Sign up for their mailbox and sign up for savings. The more you spend….(wait for it) the more you save, of course. What’s even better is that the savings can be applied to your current purchase (unlike department store gift card promotions.) The crowning glory? Petit Bateau is just a few steps from Hotel Wales. Considering their t-shirts are a little pricey, you should have no problem hitting the $150 mark. I mean, seriously, can you really have too many perfect-fitting white t’s? I can’t seem to get enough. And the little ones around you might want to partake as well.

The promotional breakdown is as follows:

Spend $150 and save $30 (20% off)
Spend $120 and save $20 (16.7% off)
Spend $80 and save $10 (13.5% off)
