For those of you who aren’t familiar with Hotel Wales, it’s just one block from Central Park at 1295 Madison Avenue. A first time traveler to NYC might enjoy the fact that the hotel is close to Museum Mile. Additionally, Carnegie Hill is famous for having a great mix of fine restaurants, gourmet food stores and upscale boutiques.

I love the Hotel Wales and always have my out of town friends stay there. I’d love to know a bit about its history. How old is it and what was it before it was the hotel?
