Looking for the perfect Manhattan day-planner idea? Hotel Wales is within steps of the Museum Mile, making it the ideal spot to escape the bustle of Midtown hotels and enjoy New York like a local. Plus, Hotel Wales is home to Paola’s Restaurant, one of the best Italian restaurants in New York (and that’s saying a lot, right?)
Check out the Gayot review of Paola’s. Gayot gives props to Paola Bottero for being one of New York first noted female chefs and compares the eatery to “a warm sweater.” Cozy and delicious? Count us in.

You’re a thinker…a foodie with an insatiable appetite for knowledge as well as great cuisine. The Upper East Side is full of history and even more stocked with some of the best restaurants in the City. If you wonder about the history of some of New York’s oldest and most distinct restaurants, submit a question to former New York Times Dining section writer William Grimes. From 1999 to 2003, Grimes was the Times’s restaurant critic and he is also the author of the recently released “Appetite City: A Culinary History of New York.”
William Grimes will answer your culinary questions starting Wednesday, so get your questions ready.

Thanks to the New York Social Diary, who attended our grand re-opening party to celebrate our new look and enjoyed bites from Paola’s.
“The Hotel Wales is the perfect place to dump your relatives when they visit for Thanksgiving or other holidays. Just a thought…”
You know, we hadn’t thought about it that way – but it’s totally true. Hotel Wales is smartly positioned in the Upper East Side and offers the quaint, quiet ambiance your family members would love. Plus, they will be super close to all the great restaurants, which means you won’t have to cook for them every night.
